"I first met Michael through Raven Chacon. I've also written about him and his work for First American Art Magazine. He's a sought-after composer with many commissions from prominent ensembles. Now a long time faculty member of NACAP, he was one of the first graduates of the Native American Composer Apprentice Project. We've become friends over time, and he invited me and Angela to come visit for a few days on our way from New Mexico to California. We spent a day in Tuba City recording with his metal band Akklamation and another day recording in his studio as a duo. This is Michael's first published recording of completely freely improvised music. It's an honor to be able to present Michael to the community of improvisers and sonic appreciators who may not otherwise be familiar with his work."

"When we were planning on the structure of how we were going to record, I knew that I wanted to do a track with just Acoustic guitar and no FXs and just extended techniques and another track with heavy use of FXs. I also did this same approach with the Electric Guitar; one Track with Distortion only, and the next track with Distortion and FXs."
